An epic cycling conquest
2008 marks the inaugural year for The Ride to Conquer Cancer and it is already becoming a movement worthy of its name. It’s a monumental, two-day, 150-kilometre bike ride to fund leading-edge cancer research. But make no mistake, this event isn’t just for athletes or cycling enthusiasts. The Ride to Conquer Cancer is for anyone who wants to challenge themselves for a great cause. Even people who haven’t ridden since they were twelve. All that’s required is motivation, a bike, and a helmet. The rest is taken care of…
It all begins with a sunrise ceremony to remember those lost to cancer, and to honor those fighting on. Then, they’ll set out in an awesome display of Riders full of anticipation for the challenge ahead. On an exhilarating exit, fans will cheer them on and horns will honk. Beyond the moral support, they’ll also be physically supported. From Pit Stops every 25–30 kilometres to a hearty lunch to an incredible tent city awaiting them at Camp complete with a rib-sticking dinner, massage, and entertainment. On Day Two, they’ll ride another fulfilling day with the same great support along the way, including snacks, hydration, toilets, and medical attention if they need it. It’s their victorious trip to the end of the route through beautiful scenery, finally welcomed by throngs of supporters with an intensely powerful celebration of their conquest.
