Brian Pendleton – President
Brian Pendleton, President of CauseForce, Inc., has married charitable causes, marketing savvy and operations expertise to create a fundraising organization unlike any other. It is unique in its approach to generating money, increasing awareness, and invigorating non-profits through realizing possibilities. CauseForce is more than a fundraiser; it is a people-raiser. That’s because CauseForce in partnership with its benefiting partners produces events that leverage the human spirit, encouraging people to endeavor things they have never done and deliver results that they once imagined impossible. In September 2003, CauseForce produced the largest single fundraiser in Canadian history, raising over $12.5M for breast cancer research at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. Since then, CauseForce has continued to grow, offering new event-products like The Underwear Affair and the Ride to Conquer Cancer to raise a total of $160M to date, $48M of which from the 2007 event season alone.
Prior to CauseForce, Brian was Vice President of Information Technology and Business Development at Pallotta Teamworks, Inc, and was responsible for establishing the technology vision, driving its realization, and pursuing new avenues of strategic growth for the company. At PTW, Brian’s technology group built in-house systems that supported over 100,000 participants and managed more than $200 million in donation transactions by developing one of the first online donation processing web systems. Brian was a key member in the production of over 40 multi-day fundraising events all over the US, Europe and Africa.
Giving back is critical to Brian and CauseForce. He has served as Board Chair for The Trevor Project and sat on the National Board of Governors for The Human Rights Campaign based in Washington DC. In 2007 CauseForce walked in a LA based fundraiser for Project Angel Food, a food bank.
Carrie Smith – Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Carrie oversees all aspects of participant recruitment and fundraising, as well as production of all events produced by CauseForce. She has over ten years of experience producing multi-day fundraising events ranging in size from 500 participants to 7000 participants, and has been involved in more than 50 events spanning three countries. Carrie brings a wide range of knowledge and hands-on experience to the team. Working with the operations and logistics teams, she ensures that the participant experience is exceptional from the initial contact with staff until after closing ceremonies. Before joining CauseForce as Director of Logistics in January 2003, Carrie most recently served as an Event Coordinator for Pallotta Teamworks. Prior to her career in event production, Carrie worked for several years as Membership Recruitment Specialist for Patriot’s Trail Girl Scout Council and spent several years in the field of Early Childhood education.
Trina L. MacLeod – Vice President of Finance
As Vice President of Finance, Trina MacLeod oversees the finance and accounting of each fundraising event managed by CauseForce. Reporting directly to the President, Trina leads the company’s international financial operations. Prior to joining CauseForce, Trina managed international financial operations, budgets and market development for international public companies, including THQ, Korn/Ferry International, Futurestep, and United Airlines. Trina has experience in foreign market analysis and has managed international acquisitions across multiple countries, coordinating financial, legal, and operational resources. Having both worked and studied abroad, Trina holds an International Masters of Business Administration from the University of Glasgow, and a Bachelor’s in International Marketing/International Business from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
Chad Goldman – Vice President of Marketing
After receiving his business undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in the US and Universidad del Salvador in Argentina, Chad held the Marketing Director position at ITS, a computer services provider in Buenos Aires. There, he led the company’s marketing initiatives, helping them to establish their outsourcing and educational services for Argentina’s top multinationals. Chad facilitated the company’s strong year-over-year growth in these areas and bolstered their awareness as the market leader. After ITS, Chad attended graduate school to receive his MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management, also known as Thunderbird. During the course of his MBA, he specialized in international marketing to build upon the experience he earned while working in Argentina. Chad then headed to Los Angeles where he served as a Brand Specialist at Skilset, a consulting firm. At Skilset, he led the development of identities, launches, re-branding initiatives, and marketing strategies in a wide array of industries. Now at CauseForce, Chad holds the Marketing VP position. As such, he manages strategy, creative development, and execution of all collateral, advertising, web expressions, apparel, and on-event experiences for all CauseForce events.
